Ever had a client/partner business/employee send you a file type you couldn’t open, and when you go find the correct application you find it’s Windows only? This has to be one of the most frustrating things that can happen to a Mac business user – but there is a solution.
With an application like CrossOver you can install and run a piece of Software designed for Windows on your Mac.
While the situation is a lot better than it used to be for Mac business users, with most major applications available on Mac, and if not then there is a just as good (if not often better) alternative that will open the file types sometimes this issue does still come up.
Most notably if your industry uses a specialist piece of software, which there is no Mac release or alternate tool that uses the same file type. In such circumstances CrossOver is an invaluable tool.
Also web developers will find it useful as it allows you to run Internet Explorer on your Mac, meaning you can test the site your currently designing on all browsers.
