Handy iPhone & iPad Apps

Dragon Dictation:
Dragon dictation is a handy little app for your iPhone and iPad which will save you time and maybe make your business a little safer. Dragon dictation allows you to record a voice note, which it then converts to text and allows you to save us a note, update your twitter feed, email it, or send it as a text. It is pretty accurate as long as you speak clearly and aren’t in a noisy environment. If there is some background noise or you feel like mumbling, the results can be pretty amusing!

Dropbox:
Access your Dropbox account from anywhere, open important files and documents while on the move. This is very handy and a timesaver if you don’t have your laptop on you, however in order to open the files you of course need the appropriate app running on your device (for example, to open Pages files you need Pages on your iOS device). The downloads can also be a little slow over 3G and you can only add certain files at the moment (mainly pictures) so if you edit any files they won’t automatically resynch with Dropbox so you need to figure out the best way for you to get them back on there.

Keynote:
Show off your presentations on the move – excellent for meetings, presentations and sales. The designing interface can’t beat the Mac version, but is suitable for quick edits. The interface for displaying presentations is excellent and cannot be rivaled.

Teamviewer:
Connect to your desktop Mac or server and use the desktop wherever you are. A fantastic app for checking or altering settings or accessing information remotely.

SWOT Analysis:
A handy little tool for strategic analysis. With a desired objective in mind it allows you to store cards under the 4 SWOT categories (Strengths, Weaknesses, Oppurtunities, Threats) and connect connected steps or themes. It allows you to store on these cards text, pictures, audio recordings and diagrams.

Specialist Apps:
There is a whole host of specialist apps in the app store for a range of business types – from construction to car dealerships.
Either search for your business type or browse the business category.
