Phone Amego – Linking your iPhone with your Mac and Daylite

In a previous blog we looked at the Daylite FoneConnector, allowing you to record Skype calls in Daylite. In this blog we’re going to look at Phone Amego, an app that allows you to connect your iPhone (or other Bluetooth enabled phone) with your Mac. With this and an applescript, you can also record incoming and outgoing mobile calls in Daylite.

Installing the app is easy, but we had a few troubles connecting it with our iPhones. One had no problems, but the other took some trial and error with settings, which we put down to the Bluetooth settings on the actual Mac. Eventually we got there. Another quick tip is to keep an eye on the handsfree settings – sometimes calls suddenly answered on the Mac rather than the handset, so if you don’t want that to happen, make sure you check your handsfree settings on Phone Amego.

With our Phone Amego ready, we then enabled it to communicate with FoneConnector. So now when a client calls my mobile and I’m using my laptop, their details pop up in Daylite and it allows me to look up their info/email history and log the call. Another great little tool for helping you to keep track of clients and your communications with them.

Phone Amego also has numerous other features that can help you and your business. Check out http://www.sustworks.com/pa_guide/index.html for more info.
